A creepy dashcam video from a Massachusetts motorist shows a masked individual dressed as a construction worker emerging from a wooded area and seemingly trying to stop the vehicle, which quickly swerved to avoid the wandering weirdo. The unsettling scene (featured above) reportedly came to light on Thursday morning when the driver shared the chilling footage on Reddit. The perplexed witness explained that they were headed home shortly before midnight on Wednesday in the town of Hopkinton when "this dude in a construction vest and hard hat holding a shovel is just walking onto the road in front of me." Making the moment all the more unnerving, the driver recalled that the eerie interloper was wearing a "Halloween mask."
The bewildered witness also indicated that "no trucks or cones or anything construction related were out there" at the time of the strange sighting, which would further suggest that the mysterious miscreant was wearing a makeshift disguise. "Probably just some idiot trying to scare people," the driver mused, "but honestly, that's super dangerous and could've caused a serious crash." After the video was shared online, it spread like wildfire on local social media, prompting the Hopkinton Police Department to post on social media that they were made aware of the incident and are "actively investigating this matter." One imagines that cops are keen to unmask the phantom construction worker before they pop out of the woods and scare another driver.
