Laurance Doyle

Dr. Laurance Doyle is a principal investigator with the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California. He has been with SETI since 1987, where his main projects have included photometric detection of extra solar planets. He is a visiting lecturer at the University of California, Santa Cruz, teaching classes on life in the universe and light & optics. Dr. Doyle is also president of PlanetQuest, a recently started non-profit corporation that will bring planet detection capability to the public. Dr. Doyle attended San Diego State University and after receiving his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees he worked as an engineer with the Voyager spacecrafts in the Space Image Processing Group at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Heidelberg in 1987.
