Our newest feature for Coast Insiders, The Art Bell Vault, offers an expanding curated collection with two vintage shows added to the mix each Wednesday. This week, we showcase a pair of programs wherein Art talks to Brendan Cook and Barbara McBeath from the Ghost Investigators Society (GIS) and they share chilling electronic voice phenomena (EVP) captured during their many expeditions to cemeteries and haunted locations. First, we highlight an episode from 8/6/2001 in which the team played a number of unsettling recordings including one seemingly emanating from the spirit of a child.
Next, we journey back to October 24, 2001 for a program in which Cook and McBeath tell Art about their technique for recording EVPs and how Thomas Edison is said to have been working on an invention designed to capture spirit voices. Throughout the program, they shared several recordings from their investigations and mused about how, more often than not, the voices they capture appear to come from unhappy ghosts, perhaps because the entities are stuck between the living and the dead.
These vintage programs have commercials and breaks removed and are presented in multiple-platforms-- available on-demand for Mac, Windows, IOS, and Android. Many of them feature rare "5th" hours of content from back in the 90s when the show had a longer running time. We do include Art's beloved bumper music, which became such an indelible part of his program.
