A pair of police officers searching a man's house in Zimbabwe fled the scene after allegedly discovering goblins that were hiding in a suitcase. The curious case reportedly occurred last month when residents of the village of Dete accused Sanderson Bloom Shamuyashe of poisoning their dogs and cops were dispatched to his home to investigate. As they were looking around the residence for chemicals which could have been used in the sinister slayings, they opened a suitcase and found something far more troubling.
A witness who claims to have been in the home at the time of the incident told a local media outlet that the cops "were shocked when they saw strange beings which they believed were goblins and were seen running for their dear lives." Specifically, police suspect that the entities were Tikoloshes, which are mystical dwarf-life beings in Zulu culture known for being malevolent and mischievous. How, exactly, Shamuyashe came to be in the company of the fearsome creatures is uncertain, but one surmises that it involved some kind of evil magic.
For his part, the homeowner vehemently denied the accusation, declaring that "there is no goblin that they saw." Shamuyashe even went so far as to demand that village leaders "enlist the services of tsikamutandas," witch doctors said to be adept at locating and capturing Tikoloshes, in order to clear his name. "If they fail to root out such invisible things," he reasoned, "they have to give me a beast" in compensation for the false claim. As of yet, authorities have yet to take Shamuyashe on the proposition.
