A flying humanoid that has come to be known as the Chicago Phantom, life inside a cult, and the new space race were among the fascinating topics explored this past week on Coast to Coast AM. And, here at the C2C website, we told you about a possible new solution to the indecipherable Voynich Manuscript, a UFO sighting by a flight crew traveling over Turkey, and a pair of anomalies that just may have been divine in nature. Check out our round-up of highlights from the past week ... In Coast You Missed It.

Over the last few years, a mysterious new creature has seemingly burst into the paranormal zeitgeist: a flying humanoid frequently spotted in the Midwest and dubbed the Chicago Phantom. On Wednesday night's program, author Lon Strickler discussed his work investigating and documenting a whopping 80 sightings of the entity that have been reported since 2017. According to witnesses, the being resembles an emaciated human with bat-like wings that boast a span of 10 to 15 feet. As to what the phantom might be, Strickler speculated that it could be some kind interdimensional entity briefly visiting our world and terrifying those unlucky enough to see it.

In what has become something of a strange annual tradition, this past week saw yet another person come forward with claims of having deciphered the infamous Voynich Manuscript. The self-proclaimed solver this time around is Dr. Gerard Cheshire of England's University of Bristol, who claims that the writing in the book is actually a 'proto-Romantic' language that he allegedly uncovered after just two weeks of studying the material. Suffice it to say, not everyone was convinced by the academic's claim as one expert in Medieval history said that such a language doesn't exist, which suggests that this won't be the last time we hear from someone who believes that they have cracked the Voynich code.

In a riveting edition of the program this past Saturday night, Vennie Kocsis shared her story of growing up in a religious cult and ultimately surviving the harrowing ordeal. She detailed how her mother was recruited into a group known as the 'Move of God' and how this led to her family living in a compound in the Alaskan tundra where all manner of mistreatment was inflicted on members of the organization by its leaders. Kocsis also explained how she eventually escaped from the cult and reflected on how these groups are able to control their adherents to prevent them from leaving.

This past week saw a pair of stories featuring eerie anomalies that some suspected could have been proverbial 'signs from above.' First, a British man chopping wood was caught by surprise when he looked at one log in particular and saw what appeared to be the face of Jesus. Despite not being a religious person, the man has no plans to use the piece of kindling because "I'll burn in Hell." Later in the week, a woman in Argentina snapped a truly amazing picture of the sun and clouds coming together to form the image of a massive 'angelic figure' hovering in the sky. As one can imagine, the photo quickly went viral with many observers suggesting that the 'being' might have been a message from God.

Thanks to the emergence of the private space industry, the prospect of humans finally journeying off-planet on a more consistent and accessible basis is increasingly becoming closer to reality. On Monday night's program, Robert Zubrin talked about the 'new space race' and how it may unfold in the future. While many people are familiar with the work of billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, he noted that there are a number of lesser-known private space ventures being developed in countries like New Zealand and Ukraine. This groundswell across the planet, he believes, will ultimately lead to the "vast majority of humans" living somewhere other than Earth in a few centuries time.

An intriguing trend which we've been monitoring at the C2C site over the last few years centers around UFO reports from pilots and this past week featured yet another case of an unidentified craft being seen by airline professionals. In this instance, the sighting occurred as a Turkish Airlines flight was en route to Istanbul and the crew noticed "an incredibly bright celestial body at high altitude" that was flying perilously close to their craft. The incident was made all the more remarkable because not only did the pilot film the UFO, but he posted the video to his social media account marveling at what he had just witnessed.
