In Coast You Missed It 9/7/18

A rare near-death experience which featured a journey to Hell, the fascinating world of fairy lore, and deathbed visions were among the topics explored on Coast to Coast AM this past week. And, at the C2C website, we paid a visit to the International Cryptozoology Conference, detailed two very different conspiracy-related stories, and spread the word about a psychic cat for sale in Russia. Check out our complete wrap up of highlights from the past week ... In Coast You Missed It.

It was a big week for cryptid news at the Coast site as we featured a report on last weekend's International Cryptozoology Conference held in Portland, Maine with some on-the-ground insights from the festivities as well as photos taken at the event. We also cheered on the 2018 'Golden Yeti' winner who was announced at the conference. Meanwhile, a man in England may have captured video of a mystery sea serpent in a famed river, and a much-discussed Canadian Sasquatch lawsuit was, sadly, dismissed.

Fortean researcher Joshua Cutchin discussed his exhaustive research into the realm of fairy lore on Tuesday night's program. He detailed how these mysterious entities seem to appear in a similar form throughout cultures around the world. Easily the most unsettling aspect of these beings which Cutchin talked about during the show is that they often seem to be connected to the disappearance of children in a manner somewhat similar to alien abduction reports.

Conspiracy theories cropped up this week in a couple of unusual stories posted at the Coast to Coast AM website. First, an Australian woman won a rather sizeable settlement from her employer after she was ordered to go home and not return until her mental faculties could be certified by a doctor because she had been discussing conspiracy theories at work. Conversely, Denver International Airport decided to celebrate the conspiracy theories connected to the site by way of a new ad campaign.

Near-death experiencer and author Tamara Laroux took Coast listeners on a terrifying journey during Sunday night's program when she recounted visiting Hell following a suicide attempt. She recalled seeing a huge crowd of tortured souls around her crying out in distress and a demon sporting multiple heads which seemed to radiate fear. When Laroux expressed regret at having not accepted Jesus as her savior, she says, a "white cloud" appeared and whisked her out of the nightmarish place.

On a somewhat similar note, Thursday night's program featured therapist Carla Wills-Brandon sharing insights into deathbed visions and contact with loved ones residing on the 'other side.' She revealed that many people who report having these pre-death experiences say that they can see and speak with departed relatives who are seemingly in the room with them. Sadly, their stories are often discounted by family members who may be with them in the room.

And, finally, the title of the weirdest story of the week has to go to the 'psychic' cat that appeared for sale on the Russian equivalent of Craigslist. Dubbed 'Sibgeo,' the clairvoyant creature can purportedly sense both good and evil spirits as well as warn its owners when such sinister forces may be near. Making the tale all the more bizarre is that the cat's owner wants a whopping $75,000 American dollars for the gifted feline.
