The mysteries of the ocean, Bigfoot, and eerie paranormal investigations were among the fascinating topics explored this past week on Coast to Coast AM. Hauntings and spirits were in the spotlight on Wednesday night's program as medium Victoria Gross talked about her experiences investigating various paranormal hotspots. She shared an unnerving account of visiting the notorious Plummer Auditorium at Fullerton Union High School in California and playing an EVP previously captured at a moratorium. The sound, she recalled, caused an eerie shift in the atmosphere and seemingly manifested a hand that briefly appeared over a balcony. Gross also recounted an investigation at the Hollywood Wax Museum wherein she sensed what she described as "transient spirits" befitting the popular tourist attraction.
A pair of interesting international UFO cases caught our attention this week, beginning with a fantastic photo from Paraguay, where an attendee at a party for a local football team snapped a picture of an approaching storm contrasted with the clear blue sky and, in the process, captured what appeared to be a classic flying saucer. Suffice it to say, the puzzling photo was the talk of the gathering that day and has since gone viral on Paraguayan social media. Meanwhile, in Argentina, a pilot with fourteen years of experience came forward with a fantastic account of a recent incident wherein he witnessed three unusual lights outside his aircraft for over 30 minutes. Having seen all manner of prosaic aerial objects over the years, the man was positively baffled by the experience.
While Bigfoot is often perceived as an elusive creature spotted only on rare occasions, there are a handful of cases wherein people claim to have ongoing encounters and personal relationships with the legendary cryptid. On Sunday night's program, author Arla Collett Williams shared just such a story, asserting that she has been communicating and interacting with a group of Sasquatches for the last several decades. Rejecting the notion that Bigfoot is an animal, Williams insisted that these beings are "a people like us, just hairy." According to her, Sasquatches are interdimensional beings capable of telepathic communication with a possible off-world origin.
Continuing what has been a banner year for the Loch Ness Monster, Scotland's beloved cryptid was back in the news this week with two decidedly different possible sightings. First, an eagle-eyed Google Earth user spotted three unusual anomalies resembling a group of creatures seemingly moving through the water. Some suggested the satellite image showed a family of Nessies, but others argued it was something prosaic, like people or waves. Additionally, an astonished sailor at Loch Ness reported seeing what he likened to an oversized crocodile head emerge from the water a short distance from his boat before quickly disappearing.
Long the setting for all manner of mysteries and legends, the ocean took center stage on Saturday night's program as Dr. Simon Boxall discussed how science has provided explanations for many of these enigmas and apocryphal accounts. On the subject of a proverbial 'Great Flood,' he indicated that there appears to be no evidence for such an event. That said, he note that significant ancient flooding of the Black Sea could have been what inspired such tales. Regarding the Bermuda Triangle, Boxall dismissed a supernatural explanation for mysterious disappearances in the region and, instead, attributed downed ships and planes to the high volume of traffic passing through the area.
This past week featured a pair of distinctly different mysteries that left us scratching our heads. At Jewel Cave National Monument in South Dakota, a game camera captured images of an enigmatic creature partially crossing in front of the device. Experts at the park indicated that opinions were split between a striped skunk and a porcupine, leaving observers to decide into which camp they fell. Later in the week, multiple Milwaukee residents reported hearing a bizarre mystery sound that echoed through the night for around two hours. The noise was so strange and indescribable that some even jokingly suggested it was alien in nature.
