This week's offerings are a pair of classic programs, beginning with a true 'time capsule' of an episode from 3/30/1999 wherein Art spoke to economist Gary North about the Y2K 'crisis' which centered around widespread concerns that a massive computer meltdown would occur when the year 2000 began and that this would lead to some kind of global catastrophe.
Next, we journey back to June 2nd, 1997 for an enlightening edition of the program wherein Art was joined by filmmaker Paul Davids for a conversation about the incredible life of Timothy Leary. He recounted his own experiences spending time with the 'father of the psychedelic movement' and talked about the former Harvard professor's prison escape that ultimately saw him placed in a cell next to Charles Manson. In the third hour, they were joined by Leary friend Carol Rosin, who also shared her memories of the iconic counterculture figure.
These vintage programs have commercials and breaks removed and are presented in multiple-platforms-- available on-demand for Mac, Windows, IOS, Android, and the Coast app. Many of them feature rare "5th" hours of content from back in the 90s when the show had a longer running time. We do include Art's beloved bumper music, which became such an indelible part of his program.
