UFO & ET Encounters / Mysteries of the Deep

About the show

GQ is an archeologist, historian, treasure hunter, outdoorsman, musician, and ordained minister. He joined guest host Connie Willis (info) to discuss living on a property in Kentucky where UFO and paranormal activity is an everyday occurrence. According to GQ, a ghost in his home often makes its presence known with unusual noises, such as loud crashes and sounds of objects falling, though no physical evidence is found when investigated.

GQ frequently experiences UFO sightings, observing specific types of UFOs nightly over the Daniel Boone National Forest that borders his property. The UFOs vary in shape, including a triangle with lights and a shimmering, living orb-like craft that changes colors. He has recorded many of these sightings and had a significant encounter where an orb detached from a craft and approached the house, causing a nearby power line to spark. Since these sightings began, he has often woken up at 3:30 a.m. with a strong sense of anticipation, leading to interactions with the entities through telepathic communication, where he receives answers to his questions.

GQ believes these sightings relate to the area's geological features, such as quartz deposits, which may attract or even fuel these crafts. He also recounted encounters with military helicopters observing these UFOs, including an incident where a UFO disabled a helicopter with a laser.

In the second half of the program, undersea explorer and counter-terrorism operative Scott Cassell shared fascinating stories about undersea encounters, particularly with giant squid, including his historic footage of a 54-foot squid. He described encountering the creature at around 300 feet below the surface, an experience he found life-changing. Despite capturing video of the giant squid, limitations in his equipment's resolution delayed full scientific verification of the footage. Scientists later used resolution-enhancement software to confirm the species, he reported. This encounter was part of a larger journey in which he spent years exploring and studying squid, including Humboldt squids, which have complex and cunning behaviors.

Beyond his encounters with giant squid, Cassell has participated in classified underwater military operations as a diver and specialist. His background includes a range of roles, from commercial diving to special operations missions, often involving extended dives in rebreathers and silent underwater vehicles. During these operations, he conducted long-duration underwater missions, sometimes under hostile conditions, gathering intelligence and monitoring ships by recording audio for further analysis. These missions required expertise in stealth and the ability to manage extended periods submerged in challenging conditions, he noted.
