Conspiracy Theories / Channeled Insights

About the show

In the first half, publisher of Skeptic Magazine, Michael Shermer, discussed conspiracies and the importance of skepticism in evaluating extraordinary claims. He expressed his openness to the possibility of extraterrestrial life but remains skeptical of the evidence presented by UFO enthusiasts. Critical of the recent UAP congressional hearings, he noted that some of the photographic evidence presented there has been debunked. The chances of ETs encountering us are pretty slim, he added, emphasizing the vast distances between stars that make interstellar travel unlikely.

Addressing the societal implications of misleading scientific claims, Shermer pointed to the public's growing skepticism stemming from inconsistent COVID-19 guidance. "If you're lied to or misdirected by authorities… people don't trust the science," he explained. Delving into the nuances of conspiracy theories, he cited the significance of critical thinking when evaluating such claims. "The more people have to be involved, the more likely it is not a true conspiracy," he suggested, indicating that large groups of people generally are not able to keep secrets entirely.

He contrasted real conspiracies, like the Volkswagen emissions scandal, with far-fetched theories, such as the notion that Bill Gates aims to control the world population. "The world just doesn't work that way," he commented, stressing the improbability of large-scale or global conspiracies. Discussing the interplay between conspiracy theories and societal perceptions of power, he said, "People out of power tend to think that those in power are more conspiratorial," highlighting how election losers often suspect foul play. Shermer also addressed the JFK assassination, asserting his belief that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone and that there is an absence of credible evidence linking other parties to the assassination.

In the latter half, author and spiritual coach Roger Burnley discussed spiritual insights he has gleaned through channeling sessions with a collective consciousness or higher self that he calls Wilhelm. The communications initially began through automatic writing sessions in 1989. As he continued to channel Wilhelm, he understood the messages were meant to empower individuals. Burnley conveyed a potent message: "Every person born has worth and value, and all they have to do is understand it and find it within themselves." He believes that by recognizing our individual roles, we can create a better world.

He cited the transformative power of meditation, recommending that people "sit and just try to see what comes through" to connect with their higher selves. Burnley reflected on his own journey, noting that his past physical ailments diminished as he embraced this work: "I had so many different things physically wrong with me... and they kept healing as this went along."

Burnley shared a poignant message from Wilhelm: "Your story is unique and valuable. No other soul shares precisely your story." By embracing our individual narratives and connecting with our true selves, we can foster love and creativity in the world, he continued. "We all come in with things from our ancestors...that don't serve us," he added, so it's important to break generational cycles to create a better world. "We have the ability... to create the life we want to live," he concluded, affirming his belief in the potential for collective change. During the last hour, he presented channeled readings for callers.
