Haunted Dolls & Spirit Talk / Open Lines

About the show

Guest host Ryan Wrecker (email) welcomed psychic medium Patti Negri  for a discussion on her lifelong ability to communicate with spirits and her experiences in the powerful world of haunted dolls. She emphasized the importance of her mental on-off switch to navigate between the spiritual and physical worlds. Negri explained the 40-day transition period after death, a liminal space when spirits cross over, drawing connections to religious traditions like Lent and spiritual practices such as the dumb supper to honor and release departed loved ones. She stressed that mediumship is an intuitive skill that anyone can develop and shared how she was supported in her childhood by a spiritually open family.

Negri explored the significance of dolls in both magical and paranormal contexts, explaining spirits are drawn to dolls as vessels due to their humanlike features. She shared stories about her doll collection and experiences with haunted dolls, such as Peggy the Doll, which is linked to documented health incidents, at Zak Bagans' Haunted Museum. She described banishing dark spirits from dolls and transforming negative energies through rituals. She said her new book, Dollcraft: A Witch's Guide to Poppet Magick & Haunted Dolls, combines magical doll-making and haunted doll lore, utilizing her expertise in witchcraft and the paranormal to empower readers.

She spoke about her work on Ghost Adventures and how spirits react differently to modern ghost-hunting equipment. According to Negri, some spirits are frightened, while others are intrigued, and the best way to conduct a successful investigation is to respect and develop rapport with them. Contrary to popular belief, most hauntings are not malevolent; she's found that many spirits simply remain nearby out of affection—grandparents watching over grandchildren, for instance—so her work often involves house clearings to rebalance a space rather than exorcisms. Negri said she integrates elemental rituals—using air, fire, water, earth, plus herbs, oils, and sound—with more structured methods like dowsing rods to cleanse homes, perform public séances, or host events at historic sites.

Open Lines followed in the latter half of he program. Steve from Albany, New York, shared a story about surviving a car accident in 1974, involving a girl he was on a date with. He described the accident scene, mentioning the impact of the cars and the involvement of the police. Steve recounted having dreams about the accident before it happened, and how his mother also had similar dreams. He said the girl he was with could never talk to him again after the accident.

Joe from Monterey, California, talked about objects that hold negative energy, such as sigils and antique furniture. He mentioned that some people imbue objects with negative energy, which can affect others who come into contact with them. James from Florida recounted a story about a necklace with a crucifix and a St. Christopher's medal, which he gave to his dying father. He described how his cat reacted negatively to the necklace after he started wearing it again, suggesting it might have negative energy. Ryan acknowledged the cat's sensitivity to energy and advised James to heed his cat's warning.

Kurt from Wisconsin phoned in to express concerns about chemtrails and their potential impact on the environment and human health. He described the changes in contrails over the years, suggesting they are now more persistent and wider. He speculated that chemtrails might be a chemical weapon, causing deforestation and other environmental damage.
