Secret Door Special

About the show

Who's behind the Secret Door? George Noory welcomed four surprise guests, trying to identify each based solely on their disguised voices and the topics they discussed. George couldn't place the first guest, who ended up being Ron Janix (aka Captain Ron), host of Beyond Contact on the Paranormal Podcast Network and organizer of Contact in the Desert. Captain Ron spoke about his lifelong fascination with UFOs, his belief that alien visitation is likely happening, and how advanced technology might allow extraterrestrials to bend space and time for travel. He discussed famous UFO cases like Roswell and Rendlesham, as well as the growing acceptance of UFO phenomena in academia and media. Janix described aliens as observers with their own agendas, possibly indifferent to humanity unless we keep threatening the planet.

Despite the second guest affecting a high-pitched Southern drawl, George correctly identified him as acclaimed author and abductee Whitley Strieber. Strieber discussed his alleged visitations from aliens and shared how an implant in his ear connects him to another level of reality. He said he did not request this device, yet it profoundly influences his creativity and understanding. He also spoke about the evolution of human consciousness, the loss of ancient telepathic abilities after the Ice Age, and how extraterrestrials may be helping humanity awaken to its unrealized potential. Strieber described aliens as highly complex beings and refused to label them as either good or evil.

The third guest's vaguely European accent wasn't able to trick George, who correctly named the woman as psychic medium Susanne Wilson. She spoke about her intuitive gifts, which she claimed to have developed seriously in her 40s after a near-death experience. Wilson described the current paranormal landscape as a "Great Awakening" with increasing numbers of people having meaningful spiritual experiences. She shared data from a recent survey showing that many Americans report unexplained phenomena like hearing voices or feeling presences, with most experiences being positive rather than frightening. Wilson also explained spiritual concepts such as apports (objects materializing) and dream visits from deceased loved ones. She then took several live calls, offering compassionate readings and practical advice on connecting with the spirit world, navigating loss, and attracting love. Wilson ended her segment by stressing the importance of openness, love, and personal growth.

The fourth and final guest was Jim Harold, a paranormal podcaster and storyteller whom George correctly identified after some initial difficulty, joking that he sounded like Ethel Merman. Harold shared the broad range of supernatural stories he's encountered and how the paranormal is a continuum that includes both benevolent and malevolent forces. He told his favorite story about a woman nearly trapped in a painting, and also his personal experiences of synchronicity and spiritual presence. Harold acknowledged the reality of evil but also the protective power of loved ones and guardian angels.
