Natural Remedies / Amelia Earhart Mystery & Afterlife

About the show

In the first half, pharmacist Ben Fuchs discussed the many ways we can use natural remedies to help with ailments and health issues as an adjunct to modern medicine. On the topic of flu season, he noted that illnesses such as influenza are often exacerbated by "comorbidities" such as digestive, cardiovascular, and metabolic issues that suppress the immune system. He criticized conventional medicine's focus on treating symptoms rather than addressing root causes. On over-the-counter medications, Fuchs warned of potential side effects and toxicity, particularly from NSAIDs like ibuprofen, which can cause gastric bleeding and kidney damage.

He contrasted drugs with nutrition, explaining, "What nutrients do... is they give the body permission to do what it needs to do," whereas drugs "order the body" and carry risks. Fuchs stressed that many chronic degenerative diseases can be addressed through behavior changes and nutrition rather than relying solely on pharmaceuticals, which often cause side effects and nutrient depletion. On the topic of prediabetes, he said it was important to address lifestyle and diet issues first, before turning to quick pharmaceutical fixes like Metformin.

The conversation touched on the fentanyl crisis, with Fuchs highlighting its lethality: "Fentanyl is 50 times stronger than heroin." He linked widespread opioid abuse to societal "existential pain," commenting that "we've created a culture that feeds and profits on misery and suffering." When a caller asked about controversial substances like chlorine dioxide and DMSO, Fuchs reported that both compounds have specific uses, with chlorine dioxide as a disinfectant, and DMSO showing promise for pain relief and skin conditions due to its solvent properties.

In the latter half, filmmaker and author Rich Martini delved into the Amelia Earhart mystery, as well as his deep explorations of the afterlife. Sparked by the death of a close friend who visited him posthumously, he embarked on an investigation of continued consciousness beyond physical death through hypnotherapy, guided meditations, and mediumship. "We exist energetically prior to any incarnation...we only bring about 20 to 40% of the conscious energy" into life, he said, with the brain filtering out awareness of other dimensions. He emphasized that these filters can be bypassed to access afterlife knowledge.

Drawing on extensive research, eyewitness testimonies, and communication with mediums, Martini challenged the long-held mystery surrounding Earhart, asserting that she was never truly lost when her plane disappeared in 1937. "She knew where she was. The US government, portions of it, knew where she was. The Japanese government knew where she was. People on Saipan knew where she was," he stated. Martini visited Saipan, the largest of the Northern Mariana Islands in the Pacific, to interview eyewitnesses who claimed to have seen Earhart alive in 1944, years after her disappearance.

He said that there was footage of Saipan's airfield, showing planes in a hangar that matched descriptions of Earhart's aircraft. U.S. Marines who stormed the island during WWII in 1944 guarded the Earhart plane before eventually destroying it to keep the discovery secret, according to Martini. He theorized why the Japanese might have detained Earhart, describing how the Japanese were highly suspicious of foreign activity in the Pacific due to secret military preparations, which led to heightened tensions even before Pearl Harbor. He suggested Earhart was arrested and held prisoner for seven years on Saipan, ultimately dying of dysentery —not execution.

During the last half-hour, George featured an excerpt of his 12/5/16 interview with author Elizabeth Greenwood on people who fake their own deaths.
