Natural Remedies / Dog Training

About the show

In the first half, Dr. Drew Peterson addressed the many ways we can use natural remedies for ailments and health issues. Recalling his success in helping approximately 18,000 patients, including those with severe conditions like kidney failure, he shared a personal story about improving dialysis outcomes with simple, plant-derived supplements. Citing the importance of minerals as essential for cellular electrical energy and enzymatic functions, he explained: "Cells are liquid crystal on the inside, and these minerals help move electricity through the system." Speaking of soil depletion and contamination, he linked modern health issues to environmental factors.

On muscle building, he recommended whey protein, noting, "that's what the mother cow feeds its baby," highlighting its effectiveness for quick muscle gain. He advised acupuncture and laser therapy for localized pain, emphasizing topical treatments over systemic drugs. Regarding gout, Peterson identified alcohol and shellfish as major triggers and described it as "an inherited disease" manageable through diet. As for prostate and kidney health, he suggested essential fatty acids to reduce inflammation and herbal remedies such as saw palmetto.

Dr. Peterson advocated for heat therapies like saunas, drawing parallels to Native American sweat lodges for immune support. On diabetes management, he recommended supplements such as bitter melon and chromium picolinate to lower blood sugar. Addressing eye health, he discussed stem cell treatments using umbilical cord-derived exosomes as a promising option for glaucoma and cataracts, though he cautioned about cost and frequency.

In the latter half, Jesse Sternberg, founder of the Peaceful Alpha method, discussed his unique approach to dog training centered on calm strength rather than force. He emphasized that dogs respond first to a human's inner emotional state, noting, "Dogs communicate with feelings. They feel fear intensely... their favorite emotion is calm, tranquility." He described the role of the "peaceful Alpha" as a dog owner who balances love, boundaries, empathy, and accountability to build trust and connection. Sternberg recounted a spiritual awakening in his 20s that shifted his path toward working with dogs, leading him to prioritize training owners to connect authentically with their pets.

Sternberg characterized dog communication as a language of emotional signals and body angles, with dogs constantly reading human posture and energy. He advised owners to use side-body angles and calm voices to avoid confrontation, pointing out that dogs seek a “harmonic frequency” of calm and safety in social groups. Discipline should be applied thoughtfully, and with love, he recommended, cautioning against punishment that damages trust. "If you operate with the divinity and with the level of love and wisdom that nature does, then you'll be able to provide a fair punishment to your dog," he said. He warned that harsh treatment can lead to dogs losing trust and potentially becoming dangerous.

Outlining the basics of training new dogs, he stressed consistency and calm environments, and the integration of commands like "sit" and "stay" into daily life—not just as tricks. Sternberg advised against direct eye contact with dogs as it signals aggression, and recommended gentle petting along the chest or back rather than the head. The conversation touched on dogs' remarkable abilities, including their capacity to detect cancers and heightened sensory awareness.
