Strange Investigations / Sasquatch & Alien Abductions

About the show

In the first half, Ryan Wrecker (email) spoke with paranormal investigator Tobias Wayland about a range of unusual subjects, including winged humanoids, anomalous aerial phenomena, ghosts, and cryptids. Wayland emphasized the value of eyewitness accounts, explaining that seeing something with the naked eye is crucial for distinguishing credible sightings from digital fabrications. He described a rare event where he captured an orb on a body camera in Kettle Moraine State Forest—the orb appeared near the top of the trees before dropping straight down. However, he pointed out that the recorded footage lacked the vividness of his live experience, highlighting the limits of technology compared to human perception.

Wayland revealed that despite submitting Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, he has not encountered direct government interference in his investigations. He explained that at the local level, agencies like sheriff's departments are often cooperative, but at the federal level, disclosure is unlikely due to national security concerns or simply because "they don't really know anything" and fear appearing weak. He suggested that the government uses UFO narratives to mask secret military testing, noting, "It's too useful for them to have this issue be confused."

The conversation turned to ghost investigations, which Wayland noted are gaining mainstream acceptance. He recounted his own unsettling experiences with "shadow people" and other phenomena that seem to follow certain individuals. One story involved a woman in Rogers, Minnesota, who approached him about her grandson—she was worried that shadow people were watching him as he slept. "I still get chills thinking about it," Wayland said. “I was that kid. To hear that happen to somebody else, in a way that mirrors my own experience almost exactly, is chilling." During the call-in portion, Wayland analyzed listeners' accounts of witnessing orbs and other unexplained phenomena.

In the latter half, author and researcher Carter Buschardt shared insights from over 15 years of studying Sasquatch, along with details of his past-life regressions that uncovered a series of alien abductions. In one remarkable encounter, he tried to contact a Sasquatch by letting out a Bigfoot howl and introducing himself: "Hi, this is Carter." The creature reportedly mimicked him, responding in his exact voice. Buschardt believes this, as well as other behaviors he observed, demonstrates a "high level of intelligence" that in some ways surpasses that of humans.

He also shared personal experiences camping with his wife, who became a believer after witnessing the creatures' behaviors firsthand. Despite the potential dangers, Buschardt expressed no fear. He explained that while Sasquatch can be territorial and may chase people away, these actions are protective rather than aggressive. Highlighting their social organization, he described distinct vocalizations that suggest communication about mating or newborns, and even "trading" behaviors between clans. He also recounted instances where Sasquatch observed humans without hostility, allowing themselves to be seen before retreating.

Delving into a profound personal story from his childhood in Dallas, Texas, what he long believed was a near-miss with a car was, in fact, an alien abduction. Under hypnotic regression, Buschardt uncovered that the "car" was actually a spacecraft, and the blue 1951 Buick Roadmaster he remembered was a "screen memory" implanted to obscure the truth. Buschardt detailed multiple abductions starting around age seven, often involving his friend Craig. "They were using us to hybridize human alien species together," he claimed, a process he called "melding and meshing." He identified encounters with various alien types, as well as frequent sightings of "little grey robots" near his childhood home, which he initially dismissed as dreams.
