Renowned physicist Michio Kaku returned to C2C for a discussion of theoretical physics, hyperspace, and other topics. Kaku said that the universe's age has been accurately determined at around 13.7 billion years and is predominantly composed of 73% dark matter and dark energy, elements that remain elusive to our understanding. He also discussed the threat of gamma-ray bursts, which he said might "come from all directions" and possibly be enough to wipe out life on Earth as well as destroy whole sections of a galaxy.
He continued with Einstein's dream of a unifying "theory of everything," which Art said might be encapsulated in a single "one-inch long equation." If humans could discover this equation, we might be able to actually "create our own universes" using the energy of creation, Kaku remarked. Einstein's dire prediction that future wars might regress humanity if fought with nuclear weapons, leading to a return to primitive ways, was also addressed. Kaku concluded that humanity stands on the precipice of significant technological breakthroughs and environmental crises that demand urgent attention and innovative solutions to secure a sustainable future.
In the first hour, the late Sean David Morton checked in with his past predictions and also offered some new ones, such as a terrorist attack on Washington, D.C., during the July 4, 2004 holiday. Further, he predicted significant economic upheaval and inflation beginning in 2005.
