Unseen Influences / Power of Dreams

About the show

In the first half, author, lecturer, and healer Christopher LaPrath spoke about his ability to perceive what he describes as the hidden architecture of reality, and how unseen forces may shape our thoughts and experiences. "Many people alive today are really kind of dead inside," trapped in emotional and energetic patterns, he remarked. LaPrath aims to "breathe some life back into people with these heavy energies that can be on them." When asked about "seeing the unseen," he clarified it means perceiving "what is operating underneath the story that someone consciously tells about their life," including inherited beliefs, past life experiences, and energies that may not belong to the individual.

His approach involves uncovering these hidden layers to help people break free from limiting patterns. One poignant case he recalled involved a man haunted by guilt over a fatal car accident in his youth. LaPrath conveyed a message from the spirit, “It was not your fault,” which led to the man’s emotional release, divorce from an abusive marriage, and a renewed, joyful life. Addressing the origins of his abilities, he reported that neuroscientific testing revealed his brain functions differently, and he had a possible genetic link to ancestral encounters with UFOs and healing abilities.

He emphasized that “seeing a spirit isn’t the most important thing,” but rather “seeing what the living can’t see about themselves” is key to growth. During the second hour, he offered readings to callers. To Debbie from New York, struggling with negative energy and relocation decisions, he explained that her sensitivity causes her to “pick up too much noise” from others and suggested clearing that confusion to “hear your own self as to what you want.” LaPrath also spoke about the ever-present nature of spirits, referencing quantum entanglement to support his claim that they are always here with us.

In the latter half, dream expert Bonnie Buckner, PhD, discussed the profound role dreams play in unlocking creativity, emotional balance, and personal transformation. She explained that dreams serve as a mirror to our inner selves, reflecting emotions, thoughts, and spiritual states. Drawing on a 13th-century Mediterranean tradition, she identified seven types of dreams that correspond to waking time experiences, ranging from nightmares to dreams of light or union, which indicate emotional and spiritual balance. Buckner pointed out that lucid dreams—where one is aware they are dreaming—offer a unique opportunity to consciously reshape one’s experience and enhance creativity. “Lucid dream haiku poems were rated as much more creative,” she noted, highlighting scientific studies supporting this.

Buckner also addressed the phenomenon of precognitive or shared dreams, describing the dream state as a “balloon” where all possibilities exist simultaneously. When asked about nightmares, she characterized them as vital signals of unresolved emotional blockages, stating, “Nightmares are our sort of first responder… about fear or anger… and they help us see where we need to shift.” She confirmed that people can influence their dreams through interaction and lucid dreaming, linking this to emotional regulation: "Dreams operate neurologically as a place of processing memory and emotion, which then shifts our next day."

She introduced the “four-level compass” for dream interpretation—story, resonance, meaning, and potential—to deepen understanding beyond surface narratives. Buckner also highlighted how dreams can inspire creativity and problem-solving, citing the invention of the sewing machine, which came from a dream about cannibals with spears having holes in the tips. Dreams can move us out of narrow thinking and expand our imagination, she detailed, adding that dreams evolve with our life experiences and serve as a personalized inner vocabulary reflecting our unique perceptions.
