This exciting special took place in the year of the 50th anniversary of the Roswell UFO crash. Investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe appeared first, describing a new source, who confirmed stories of recovered technology which was allegedly "seeded" to American private industry from the suspected July 1947 Roswell UFO crash (or crashes) as described in Col. Philip Corso's book "The Day After Roswell." Howe played audio of her interview with computer company chief Jack Shulman, who had spoken directly to this source.
In the second hour, Phoenix City Council member Francis Barwood, researcher Richard C. Hoagland, and "UFO lobbyist" Steve Bassett discussed the implications of an apparent cover-up of the March 1997 mass UFO sighting known as the "Phoenix Lights," and a recall election which was likely due to Barwood's public inquiries about the incident. Hoagland commented on drawings of the Roswell craft produced from witness testimony that resembled a "lifting body," a technology developed almost 20 years after the Roswell incident by the US Air Force.
Bassett stayed on for the last hour of the show to discuss elements of what he saw as a massive cover-up of UFO information by the U.S. government. Regarding the alien presence, he remarked, "There seem to be other bipeds around that may be smarter than us, and they definitely drive a much later model automobile than us, and they seem to have some interest in us."
