Guy Finley is the Founder and Director of Life of Learning Foundation. He is the acclaimed author of The Secret of Letting Go and more than 45 other books and audio programs. In 1979, after traveling throughout North America, India, and the Far East in search of truth and higher wisdom, he quit a successful career to explore self-discovery.
He spoke about the importance of managing one's inner emotional states, particularly anger and resentment. Finley argued that these negative states can be channeled constructively, rather than being expressed in destructive or self-defeating manners. He pointed out the differences between rational and irrational reactions to challenging situations, and the significance of self-awareness and spiritual growth.
Finley commented that as a country, the US had "really lost the way" and was showing signs that lab rats have when they're crowded into captivity. He argued that "there is something standing in the way [of true happiness]," and the pressures we are under keep us from achieving our true nature and goals as spiritual beings. In the third hour, Finley took calls from the audience.
In the next hour, Art's wife Ramona shared travel tips for those about to join them on a trip to Italy, Greece, and the Middle East. The last hour featured Open Lines.
