Biography:

Erik Pounders is a geologist in charge of education and outreach for the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in Pasadena, California. His southern California office is part of the Earthquakes Hazards Program, which in collaboration with Caltech, monitors valuable seismic and Global Positioning Systems data for earthquake studies in southern California.
