About the show

In the first half, field archaeologist Titus Kennedy shared his latest work in his area of study, biblical archaeology. Defining biblical archaeology as "a subset of archaeology that focuses on archaeological remains, ancient sites, artifacts, and manuscripts...that are connected to the Bible," he said it could cover a lot of different time periods, as well as geographical regions beyond the traditional Holy Land, such as Mesopotamia and Greece. He highlighted the resilience of artifacts, particularly pottery, noting that ancient peoples created durable items because they could not easily replace them. Kennedy discussed the biblical city of Zoar (located in modern-day Jordan), emphasizing its unique status as the only city among the five mentioned in Genesis that was not destroyed at the time of Sodom and Gomorrah.

He highlighted Egypt's rich biblical connections, noting, "Egypt is referenced many, many times in the Old Testament," and elaborated on sites like the ancient city of Thebes, where artifacts that bolster the Bible's historical reliability have been found. He also spoke of Golgotha, the hill where Jesus was crucified, noting, "You can go and visit this today... it's really incredible to go to these places where significant events happened in his life," including the empty tomb of Jesus, located nearby in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Kennedy also touched on the intriguing connection between the biblical Exodus and ancient Egyptian history, mainly focusing on Pharaoh Amenhotep II. He posited that the death of Amenhotep's young son might correlate with the biblical account of the final plague that struck Egypt.

In the latter half, astrologer Leslie McGuirk shared her insights into astrology, how it can be used as a powerful tool for self-understanding, and what she sees coming in 2025. She likened an astrology chart to a car's owner's manual, suggesting that knowing one's astrological makeup can lead to a more fulfilling life. "You're in the driver's seat...and the best astrologers are going to empower you" in a way that's "like getting a tune-up for your soul," she said. McGuirk pointed out the importance of understanding one's Mercury and Moon signs, as they reveal communication styles and emotional responses.

While astrology can provide insights into life patterns, it doesn't offer precise predictions, she explained, comparing it to music that influences our emotions. Looking further into 2025, McGuirk forecast significant cosmic shifts, noting, "Every single planet, except for Pluto, is changing signs." She characterized this scenario as "change on steroids" and a giant turning point, adding that this collective planetary shift would deeply affect everyone with a universal feeling of dislocation and transformation. She also advocated for the integration of astrology into educational settings, arguing that understanding a child's astrological makeup could foster better relationships between parents and children. During the last hour, she gave readings for callers.
