Demonic Hauntings / Dark Matter

About the show

In the first half, paranormal investigator and demonologist Dave Juliano discussed his four decades of experience navigating extreme hauntings, noting that his path into demonology was not a choice but a "calling." He recounted a childhood marked by terrifying apparitions, beginning at age three. By his early teens, the activity turned threatening, eventually subsiding only to return 15 years later. "These things just don't necessarily go away," Juliano warned. "They go off in a distance and wait for another opportunity to come at you."

Throughout his career, Juliano has challenged the theological notion that demons only want souls, suggesting instead that they derive pleasure from psychological torment. He described the dynamic as "a cat playing with its food," explaining that these entities aim to erode a person's quality of life and create family dysfunction. "People become a toy," he noted. "How far can [the demon] break this person down?" Juliano also addressed the complexities of investigation, noting that not every case is supernatural. He maintains a rigorous vetting process, particularly for clients with mental health histories. He often requires individuals to follow medical advice for at least two months before proceeding with spiritual intervention. "The people who are truly frightened, they are willing to do just about anything to get some relief," he said.

When intervention is necessary, Juliano prefers "deliverance"—a customizable approach to prayer and ritual—over the "cookie-cutter" format of a traditional exorcism. He emphasized that the efficacy of these rituals often depends on the practitioner's faith. For protection, he employs a "layer of armor" consisting of religious prayers, blessed objects, and psychic defenses like essential oils and crystals.

In the second half, C2C's investigative reporter Cheryll Jones shared her interview with astrobiologist David Toon in which he discussed the invisible forces shaping our universe. The conversation focused heavily on dark matter and dark energy, the substances believed to account for 95% of the universe's mass and energy. Toon explained that while dark matter acts as a gravitational "connective tissue" holding galaxies together, dark energy serves as an opposing electrical force. "Dark Matter tends to attract other matter... while dark energy is actually considered an electrical force that pushes outwards," he noted, describing them as the "yin and yang of our physical universe."

A "citizen scientist," Toon has spent over a decade scouring millions of images from NASA's solar satellite archives. He searches for "techno-signatures"—objects that exhibit intelligent design rather than natural celestial patterns. He claimed to have identified numerous objects that defy conventional explanation. The interview also touched on the modern challenges of space research, specifically the rise of AI and deep fakes. Toon recounted a month-long debate with Elon Musk's AI, Grok, where he eventually convinced the bot that techno-signatures are a scientific possibility. He warned that AI is now "fantastic at spoofing people," making it difficult to discern truth from digital fabrication.

Toon also discussed the Higgs Boson, or "God Particle," which provides mass to other particles. When asked about the origin of the universe, he bridged the gap between science and faith. "I'm one of those scientists that leans towards an intelligent creator... I just see too much design by the hands of someone intelligent," he said.

The final half hour of the show featured a classic interview with Kenney Irish and Gary Robusto about tracking Bigfoot.
