Guest host Richard Syrett welcomed paranormal investigator Lon Strickler to discuss his research on the Glimmer Man and winged humanoids, as well as his own personal encounters. Strickler described the Glimmer Man as a human-sized or larger figure that is not fully visible, but instead appears as a defined distortion in its surroundings, like transparent glass, heat rising from pavement, disturbed water, or a section of the environment moving independently. Witnesses describe the background bending, shimmering, or rippling around a humanoid outline that may walk between trees, crouch, turn its head, or appear to observe them, he said. According to Strickler, the term "Glimmer Man" is descriptive rather than scientific and could encompass more than one phenomenon. He suggested possibilities ranging from perceptual effects or biological camouflage to advanced technology or some form of partial manifestation outside the normal visual spectrum.

Strickler reported the greater Chicago area has produced 186 sightings of winged humanoids that he considers valid, with reports beginning in 2011 and increasing sharply in 2017. Witnesses commonly describe a dark, emaciated humanoid roughly five to six-and-a-half feet tall, often with bat- or gargoyle-like membrane wings, a small head and, in many cases, red eyes that appear to project light. Sightings are usually brief, and Strickler revealed some witnesses have described the beings flying without noticeably flapping their wings or seemingly appearing and disappearing abruptly. He believes an ultra-terrestrial or interdimensional explanation could account for some winged humanoids, Glimmer Men and other cryptid reports, but stressed that this is his own theory and that he does not know whether the phenomena are actually connected.

Strickler also recounted two personal encounters that helped shape his interest in unexplained phenomena. In May 1981 near Sykesville, Maryland, he recalled encountering a roughly seven-and-a-half- to eight-foot-tall, hair-covered humanoid while fly fishing. From about 40 feet away, the two looked at each other for approximately 10 seconds before the creature began making clicking sounds and then turned and walked swiftly into the woods. In October 1988 at Camp Conewago in Pennsylvania, Strickler and two companions encountered a dark, approximately six-foot figure standing in a creek with intensely bright red eyes. When they illuminated it with flashlights, he said it suddenly shot upward like a rocket with a whooshing sound. Once it reached its apex, it screamed and then flew away. Strickler admitted he did not see wings unfurl, although he and another witness thought they could see large folded structures on its back.

Open Lines followed in the second half of the show. Josh from Bakersfield, California, said he is a flat-earther and plans to conduct an experiment he believes will prove the Earth is not a globe. He intends to use a zoom lens to view the Palos Verdes Estates coastline from near Marina del Rey, arguing that if he can see the shoreline despite what he calculates would be about 20 feet of curvature, it would support a flat Earth. Josh attributes ships appearing to disappear hull-first over the horizon to perspective rather than curvature. He acknowledged that he cannot explain why different constellations become visible when traveling north or south, saying he has only been a flat-earther for a few years and is still learning. He also argued that time zones can be explained by a small, local sun that he believes is 30 to 40 miles wide and less than 4,000 miles above Earth.

Eric from Nevada City, California, described a Glimmer Man encounter near his home in the Sierra Nevada. Eric said his border collie repeatedly fixated on something that he initially could not see, but when he positioned himself behind the dog and looked in the same direction, an apparently concealed figure suddenly ran away, revealing a sparkling outline around the back of its head and body that reminded him of the cloaking effect in the movie Predator. Eric recalled the figure blended perfectly into the surrounding trees and brush until it moved. He estimated it was only three to three-and-a-half feet tall and speculated that it might have been a juvenile.

Aaron from Tempe, Arizona, discussed his experiences with Joshua P. Warren's newer "wishing machine" and noted it has helped amplify his intentions while seeking a career change. Following the device's instructions, Aaron writes a wish on paper, places the machine over it, and uses a spinner incorporating a magnet and quartz crystal, explaining that he views the process in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration rather than supernatural magic. Since beginning to use it, he said five job interview opportunities have emerged, including four still ahead, for positions that could offer better pay, shorter commutes and new experiences. Aaron believes the machine helped focus and amplify intentions, but pointed out users must also recognize synchronicities and act on opportunities when they arise.
