Consciousness Experiments

About the show

Author Richard C. Hoagland discussed Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) laboratory experiments on mind-matter interactions, focusing on a random number generator influenced by human thought and emotion. He highlighted PEAR’s research into a “growing global mind,” known as the Global Consciousness Project.

Using 39 random number generators worldwide, the project tested whether major international events affected human emotions and altered the machines’ randomness. Hoagland noted that the death and funeral of Princess Diana produced results with a “one in a hundred chance” of occurring by chance. Similar tests during events like 9/11 showed even stronger effects, surprisingly starting 4-5 hours before the event.

Hoagland and Art invited the audience to try influencing the experiment through visualization. Hoagland suggested these effects might depend on cosmic “cycles” and alignments in the solar system, which he claimed influence NASA’s scheduling. He also described a “nano-bomb technology” that could destroy bacteria and viruses, but was not pursued due to lower profitability. In the first hour, alongside news and open calls, Art reported on talk show host Rush Limbaugh’s sudden hearing loss and led listeners in a visualization exercise to promote his healing.
