Investments & Stock Market Crash

About the show

In a night of discussion about a recent stock market near-crash, Art welcomed financial experts Andrew Gause and Don McAlvany. Gause is one of the most respected monetary historians and contemporary experts on the American and international banking systems. He described how governments and big financial players affect markets, and warned of conditions that could result in a one-world currency. He also suggested ways to keep your investments safe and suggested that gold was one good hedge against disaster.

McAlvany’s background in intelligence work makes him sought by high-level political and business leaders throughout the world for consultation on global financial trends. He detailed the "fragile" conditions that led to the market drop, such as currency devaluations in the Far East. He expressed his doubts about risky investments like mutual funds, and described a conversation with a securities regulator who told him that "it’s only a matter of time before a serious meltdown" of the U.S. financial system. He said that the best places to invest at the time were short-term money market funds, silver coins, and gold.
