Prophetic Dreams & Parapsychology

About the show

Researcher Alan Vaughan, who worked in parapsychology, particularly with the Dream Laboratory at Maimonides Hospital, discussed prophetic dreams, precognition, and psychic abilities. Vaughan said he began as a skeptic, editing scientific books in the mid-1960s, when he started having psychic experiences, including prophetic dreams, which led him to research precognition. Vaughan confirmed that his track record had "54% accuracy" for "detailed predictions of future events." He went on to recount some of his past predictions, such as the fact that Russia and the U.S. would partner in a space project six years before the Apollo-Soyuz mission, which was at the height of the Cold War.

He stated his theory that UFOs, precognition, and sightings of Bigfoot were all connected through other dimensions and that time "just doesn't stay put." Vaughan suggested ways to improve psychic functioning by using methods such as meditation, mindfulness, and even software that trains individuals how to "listen to gut feelings." Art recalled his own experiments with the listening audience, which he had conducted with the intention of making rain, and said they were frighteningly successful.

The guest noted that premonitions are a "part of our evolutionary skills" for survival, to warn and help to avoid life-threatening situations. Vaughan also claimed that time travel was "possible right now," and went on to describe mental states that allow access to accurate information about the past and future. The first hour featured news and Open Lines.
