In the first hour, Art welcomed back parapsychologist Dr. Evelyn Paglini, who checked in on a prediction from her March 31, 2007 Coast appearance regarding an "evil presence" and a violent Columbine-like event. Art first played the original recording of Paglini predicting health problems for pets (which actually happened to Art's cats) and school violence that was "going to escalate to beyond our wildest dreams" and how she wished she "had not been anywhere close to being right" when soon after, she saw coverage of the Virginia Tech school shootings. She further predicted there would be widespread wildfires. She believed "a nonhuman evil force" was behind this escalation and that more people would begin to feel this" presence of evil."
Art then hosted a night of unscreened Open Lines. In light of the tragedy at Virginia Tech and increasing violent events around the country, he asked listeners, "What's happened to us?" Several callers phoned in to share their thoughts on the topic and air their feelings about the shootings. Many of the conversations centered on the nature and source of evil, as well as how modern technology has both connected us in new ways while simultaneously disconnecting us from each other.
