In his Christmas Eve broadcast, George held a night of Open Lines, with a special topic line devoted to stories of Xmas miracles. Santa Claus checked in briefly during his overnight delivery, saying that houses that have a lot of love "radiate a bright red," and yes, he does occasionally see a few UFOs up there.

Richard Hoagland of Enterprise Mission also gave two updates about the successful orbiting of the European Space Agency's Mars Express probe. He noted that although the Beagle 2 craft sent by Express to land on the surface of Mars had yet to send a signal back, the more important equipment remained on the main probe.
