Investigative author and historian Edward Malkowski shared his research into ancient Egypt. He believes that the civilization there may be far older than is commonly thought, and made use of scientific methods. For instance, the work of West and Schoch has shown that the Sphinx is at least 7,000 years old which would place its construction before the time of the Pharaohs. The Sphinx might have been part of a pre-existing culture that dates back thousands of years earlier, and its face may have been changed from an animal to a man during the Pharaoh years, he said. Evidence for previous civilizations dating back 10,000 BC and further could have been destroyed in a cataclysm, he added.

He also discussed a group of megaliths in Egypt's Nabta Playa that reportedly represent the distances of stars in the constellation of Orion to Earth. And a stone, carved with a map of our galaxy was also found buried there, he noted. Findings such as this, along with the research of Christopher Dunn, who has argued that the Great Pyramid was a power plant, support the notion that the ancient Egyptians had technology, said Malkowski. He also cited the work of Rene Schwaller de Lubicz, who concluded that Egyptian philosophy was based on a type of science that comes close to some of our recent notions in physics.
