Cosmetic Surgery

About the show

Dr. Ken (Dr. Ken Oleszek), a Board certified physician and winner of the prestigious award of Best Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Enhancement from The Aesthetic Show, joined guest host Connie Willis (info) to discuss cosmetic surgery techniques, stem cell uses and research, and anti-aging treatments.

He described his extensive experience in the medical field, particularly in cosmetic procedures. Beginning in the 1990s, he trained in internal medicine and later specialized in cosmetic practices, focusing on procedures involving fat extraction like liposuction. Fascinated by the potential benefits of fat, Dr. Ken delved into research involving stem cells extracted from fat tissue. He joined a nationwide consortium to study using these stem cells for various applications, such as anti-inflammatory purposes for diseases like arthritis and multiple sclerosis.

Dr. Ken discussed the potential of stem cells for regenerative therapy and highlighted their role in aiding tissue growth and repairing damaged body parts, noting regenerating a whole limb, akin to an octopus regrowing a tentacle, seems far-fetched. He spoke about the revolutionary developments in cancer treatments, such as CAR T-cell therapy, capable of curing previously incurable cancers. The approval process by the FDA for such treatments is time-consuming and costly which limits their immediate widespread use, he added.

In the realm of cosmetic surgery, Dr. Ken emphasized the artistry required in cosmetic procedures. "Science and artistry converge in cosmetic surgery, creating subtle changes that can make a significant difference before resorting to invasive procedures," he said. Dr. Ken explained the differences in approaches between treating men and women. Men often seek treatments to appear healthier and vibrant, while women tend to opt for a more youthful and radiant appearance. He cautioned about the risk of overdoing cosmetic procedures like Botox and fillers, as excessive use can lead to migration and undesirable effects which eventually necessitate surgical interventions.

Manifesting

During the first hour, professional controlled remote viewer and instructor Lori Williams discussed the concept of manifesting, teaching controlled remote viewing, and her experiences with manifesting and healing. She explained the importance of clarity in what one desires and emphasized focusing on the goal rather than the method of reaching it. Williams shared stories of instant manifestations in her life and revealed how time and alignment with one's destiny play roles in how quickly manifestations occur. She delved into the idea of becoming a different person to let go of things that no longer serve and mentioned the necessity of taking action when opportunities present themselves. Williams encouraged letting go of fear and doubt, while emphasizing the role of personal effort in bringing about desired outcomes.
