Exploring Channeling / Open Lines

About the show

Joining guest host Ryan Wrecker (email), Helané Wahbeh discussed her research at the Institute of Noetic Sciences. There, she studies phenomena often labeled as channeling. She explained that this umbrella term covers a wide range of experiences—from common intuitive hunches and gut feelings to trance channeling, mediumship, and telepathy. Wahbeh emphasized that everyone may have the ability to access information or energy beyond ordinary perception. Her team investigates this in both laboratory and everyday settings. As an example, she discussed ongoing telepathy experiments. Pairs of emotionally-bonded participants attempt to sense whether the other is sending positive intentions under controlled conditions.

Wahbeh highlighted more unconventional areas of study, particularly trance channeling that claims extraterrestrial origins. She described collecting thousands of pages of trans-channeled content. She then compared this content to declassified UFO documents. Wahbeh claims to have found notable overlaps in themes. These included disclosure, communication methods, and humanity's role in the "galactic neighborhood." While acknowledging she cannot scientifically prove the source of such information, she noted key differences. Channeled material tended to focus on consciousness, compassion, and humanity's awakening. Military sources, by contrast, leaned toward surveillance and experimentation narratives. Her current work involves interviewing channelers in structured studies. She uses semantic analysis to compare supposed communications from different extraterrestrial groups.

Wahbeh also spoke about broader applications of nonlocal consciousness research. These include precognitive dreams, healing, and remote viewing. She described how people may experience intuition through various noetic signatures. Some people notice physical sensations like "truth bumps," while others receive mental images or auditory messages. Dreams, she noted, are a powerful pathway for some to receive guidance or warnings. Remote viewing remains an active research focus, with potential applications in archaeology, law enforcement, and even financial prediction. Wahbeh noted that these studies cannot definitively establish sources beyond doubt. However, she pointed out that the consistency of results and the personal impact on participants suggest that human consciousness may indeed extend beyond the brain and body.

Open Lines followed in the latter half of the program. Fabrizio from Miami, Florida, phoned in to discuss a study by Dr. Masaru Emoto on the effects of intention on water. Fabrizio explained how water changes its molecular structure depending on whether it has positive or negative intentions. He also recommended the book "Psychomancy Crystal Gazing" by William Walker Atkinson, and shared a personal experience where a dream validated his intuition about avoiding certain people.

Next, Jim from Normal, Illinois, introduced himself as an amateur scholar of New Testament historical Jesus studies. He discussed the gospel of Mark and its historical context, noting that it was likely written before the other gospel accounts. He mentioned the concept of the Q source, a hypothetical ancient document that scholars believe contained sayings and teachings of Jesus and was thought to have been used by the authors of Matthew and Luke.

Michael from California shared his experience of astral projection in 1993 while living in Huntington Beach. He described a dream where he floated out of his body and interacted with his girlfriend in the dream. He explained how he attempted to bring his girlfriend into the dream, influenced by the movie Dreamscape. Michael recounted floating above his body and seeing through walls, experiencing a crescendo of vibrations. He also confirmed he was sober at the time and had no medication that could have altered his state of mind.
