Natural Remedies / Soul Guidance

About the show

In the first half, naturopathic doctor Randi Shannon shared various ways we can utilize natural remedies and supplements to support our health and address ailments. The condition of the tongue can be an indicator of organ health, she said, recalling her diagnosis of a three-year-old exposed to pesticides by analyzing her tongue, which helped identify kidney and liver distress before hospital tests confirmed it. On acetaminophen, she criticized its use during pregnancy and childhood, linking it to autism risk and explaining it depletes glutathione-- key for detoxification. Shannon encourages natural remedies over pharmaceuticals and aspirin, referencing white willow bark as a safer alternative for pain relief.

She expressed confidence in the potential reversibility of many chronic illnesses, emphasizing the role of the immune system's "killer T cells" and "helper cells" in combating disease. Shannon also raised concerns about environmental toxins, particularly contaminants in water supplies, linking them to increased kidney failure and cancer rates. She warned about the dangers of microplastics and endocrine disruptors, advising listeners to avoid plastic containers and coffee cups lined with plastic. On dietary questions, she recommended caution with peanut products due to mold toxins and endorsed organic almond butter in moderation.

The guest discussed the potential cancer-preventive properties of amygdalin found in apricot seeds and almonds, citing Edgar Cayce's assertion that eating several almonds daily can help prevent cancer. She pointed to the Hunzas' consumption of over 100 apricot seeds daily as part of their diet. Shannon also addressed misconceptions about fruit seeds, noting that despite concerns about arsenic in apple seeds, she regularly consumes them and highlighted the benefits of bitter melon seeds for cellulite prevention.

In the latter half, author and medium Carole Obley shared insights into the nature of the soul, intuition, and the afterlife, drawing from her 30 years of experience in mediumship. She characterized the soul as "the eternal, inextinguishable light of the divine or consciousness" present in all beings. While souls may express emotions during communication, "the soul itself does not have emotion, because emotion is really from our rational mind and from our ego," she explained. Defining intuition as "the literal voice of the soul," it can often be illogical, she said, but that's because the soul doesn't operate in linear reality. "It operates in a greater, unlimited reality than our minds."

Speaking of the afterlife, the guest views death as a transition to the spirit world, where souls continue evolving. She highlighted the concept of a "life review," where souls experience their entire lifetime from birth to death, which helps contextualize suffering and growth. The soul chooses its personality before incarnation to fulfill evolutionary purposes, she added. Exploring the "dark night of the soul," a state of profound spiritual loneliness, she described it as "a shared human condition" that paradoxically allows individuals to "see and recognize the light" and awaken to the reality that "we are not alone, and that we are eternal beings."

On surrendering, Obley clarified that it is not weakness but "a space of acceptance" where one releases resistance, which she equates to suffering. Regarding mediumship, she portrayed the process as a "merging" of her soul with the communicating soul, allowing awareness of the deceased's consciousness. She emphasized the importance of focused questions during readings, noting her clairaudient ability to hear spirit communications. During the last hour, she gave readings for callers.
