Future of Artificial Intelligence / Divine Miracles

About the show

In the first half, Adam Hardage, a former CIA operations officer, Air Force Academy graduate, and combat veteran, discussed the future of AI and its limitations. Hardage framed AI as a double-edged sword: "I use it myself... the productivity increase is exponential. It's like having a copywriter, editor, assistant, and research advisor all rolled into one." However, he warned of over-reliance on AI, cautioning against "putting your brain in a jar" and allowing machines to do all the thinking, which risks "the dumbing down of the human race." He stressed that while AI democratizes access to PhD-level intelligence for a low cost, this levels the playing field to such an extent that individual creativity and responsibility become the key differentiators. "If you don't develop that individual sense... when you're actually put to the test, you're going to crumble," he warned.

The conversation covered the societal upheaval AI is already causing. Hardage cited Walmart's decision to halt hiring humans for three years in favor of robotics, resulting in 600,000 jobs not being created, alongside layoffs at Amazon and Target. He also referenced an incident where a prosecutor submitted a ChatGPT-generated legal thesis citing nonexistent cases, illustrating the risks of AI-generated misinformation. "They're great tools, but as humans, you still have to be the driver," he insisted.

Hardage foresees a world where humanoid AI companions become common within five years, describing a "dystopian future" where autonomous AI agents make decisions without human input. He likened AI to a weapon that demands respect and caution. Despite these warnings, Hardage remains cautiously optimistic about the opportunities AI may create. He predicted a resurgence in skilled trades like electricians, HVAC technicians, and plumbing. Using a NASCAR analogy, he explained that with AI leveling intellectual capabilities, "the only thing that should beat another car is the driver," meaning individual creativity, grit, and decision-making will determine success.

In the second half, radio personality Philip Keller, known professionally as Trapper Jack, shared stories of miracles, angelic interventions, and divine encounters. After becoming legally blind due to retinitis pigmentosa, he left mainstream radio to focus on sharing faith-based narratives. One of his stories involved a woman who had been paralyzed and wheelchair-bound after an accident. Following prayers at church, she unexpectedly stood and walked—x-rays showed that a bent surgical bar had been pinching a nerve, which prayer had apparently healed. "I saw people pray, and she came out of the wheelchair through prayer. You just can't make this stuff up," he asserted.

Jack also shared numerous accounts of angelic interventions. One involved a woman choking on a french fry in a restaurant; time seemed to freeze around her, and an unseen presence comforted and guided her through the crisis. "She feels an arm around her shoulder and a voice that says, 'You have a little air in there. You're okay,'" he recounted. In another story, a truck driver was saved from veering off a mountainous road by an invisible hand on his steering wheel. Jack highlighted the role of free will in these divine encounters, recalling another family who was urged by an inner voice to stop at a McDonald's, only to witness a spouse's infidelity firsthand. "God gave her the opportunity to stop and get out of that relationship," he explained.
