Peter Helles Eriksen

Peter Helles Eriksen

Biography:

Peter Helles Eriksen is one member of the Copenhagen-based collective behind the book Phenomena. The collective works with a conceptual, subjective and playful approach to documentary. Fundamental to their work is a conviction that the romanticized ego of the photographer needs to be challenged and dissolved. They don’t work with distinctions between who takes which image, but mix all their sources and material. Their aim is solely to put focus on the content– from the smallest detail to the overall impression. During the past few years, they have been widely published and exhibited in Denmark, Europe and Asia and individually they have received a number of prizes at Picture of the year in Denmark and POYi. All of them are trained photojournalists from the Danish School of Media and Journalism. In 2012 they started the creative community Kompleks, and daily they work individually on projects and assignments for a wide range of major media at home. The Phenomena book chronicles the UFO story.
