Paul Edward Nugent was born in Cambridge, England, in 1958 and brought up in the Church of England, culminating in regular worship and charitable work for the homeless at London’s famous St. Martin-in-the-Fields church in Trafalgar Square, sometimes called the Parish Church of England. Having completed a business degree in 1980, he embarked on a four-year study of Eastern philosophy and spent two periods at the New Age community of Findhorn in the north of Scotland. At the same time he was introduced to the cosmic teachings of The Aetherius Society, founded in London in 1955 by Western master of yoga, Dr. George King, becoming a member of the organization in 1986.
In 1990 he moved permanently to the Society’s American Headquarters in Los Angeles, where, two years later, he became a personal assistant to Dr. King remaining at his side until Dr. King’s passing in July, 1997. Paul has been a Director of The Aetherius Society since 2001. In September 2024 his own personal story together with an overview of the Cosmic Teachings and Missions of The Aetherius Society were published in the book Maya Mire – A Spiritual Journey into Cosmic Truth and the Dawning of a New World (CollectiveInk Books). He currently resides in Michigan with his wife, Yuriko.
