Alternative Health / Mind Power

About the show

In the first half, pharmacist Ben Fuchs shared natural health remedies and the vitamins, nutrients, and minerals that our bodies need to maintain good health. Regarding the condition of fibromyalgia, which involves painful muscle aches, he suggested it was due to the accumulation of toxicity in the body and a connection with the hormone estrogen. He recommended supplements that help detoxify the liver, including selenium and EFAs (essential fatty acids). For combating depression, he said one of the best things you can do is exercise or move the body, which stimulates the lymphatic and circulatory systems, and increases neurotransmitters in the brain like dopamine.

To those dealing with stress issues, which may indicate that the adrenal glands are overworked, he suggested vitamin B5. Whey protein is an excellent source of nutritional value, said Fuchs, and is especially appropriate for athletes, the elderly, and those recovering from surgery. Bromelain enzymes, he noted, "have a wonderful immune-boosting, anti-COVID, blood-thinning effect," in addition to aiding one's digestion. He also talked about how fasting can have a healthy restorative quality, allowing the body to clean out toxins and produce ketogenic energy.

In the latter half, retired professor of communications, Anthony Hamilton discussed his mind enhancement techniques that can result in greater happiness and prosperity. We can tap into our future goals at any age, he remarked, and tilt the mind toward desired outcomes by reliving past successes. Memory is not a recording as many think, but rather a connection of information going both ways, he continued. "Einstein said the laws of space and the laws of time are mirrors of each other," and similarly, our minds can draw on our past and the future, Hamilton explained. We can all take advantage of this kind of mental 'time travel,' getting inspiration from positive energy in the past and envisioning successful outcomes of future goals, he continued.

Hamilton outlined five laws of success or "mental magic," which you could see playing out in a simple task like going to the grocery store:

M- Motivation – want to get food.

A- Attitude – you have positive regard for the activity.

G- Goal – you decide to do it.

I- Imagination – you can see yourself doing it.

C- Consciousness – you connect your inner world to the outer world through the activity.

He also talked about how he incorporates the Law of Attraction into his coaching and training, such as by recalling and reliving the happiness of a past success, which helps to rewire the brain and change its neurochemicals. "When you feel good, you'll see things good things happening," and you'll anticipate more of that in the future, he added.
