About the show

Art's annual Halloween show features Open Lines where callers tell their scariest ghost and spirit encounters. Art also read faxed and emailed stories.

While Art isn't sure exactly what a ghost is, he believes the phenomenon is real. Kicking off the show, David in Bakersfield recounted taking a tour of the haunted Queen Mary ship in Long Beach in 1984. He and his friend snuck away from the group to look at a below deck swimming pool, and saw a bearded man walking along a catwalk, who then suddenly vanished. A number of other callers shared tales of seeing beings that eerily disappeared in front of them.

Laura related the story of her friend who was married to a Native American man. One night she woke up and saw a bull's head or demon hanging over their bed that spoke in an indecipherable language. When she looked at her husband in his sleep, she saw that he was mouthing the words that the entity was saying. Art suggested her husband was either possessed by or projecting the entity. The next day, the husband witnessed a strange incident where a trailer suddenly caught fire and burned down.
