'Terminator' Seeds

'Terminator' Seeds

About the show

In hours 2-4, biotech expert and environmentalist Patrick Roy Mooney, talked about the issues, implications, and ethics involved in the creation of altered and genetically engineered crop seeds that are owned by corporations (such as Monsanto) that produce them, and will not allow other crops to grow once farmers plant them. This subject of 'Terminator' seeds caught Art's attention recently, and he finds the concept beyond unfathomable.

In the first hour, Art talks about items in the news including war and Saddam Hussein, the Pope's visit, a quake in Colombia, and preparations for Y2K. During the last hour, he relates a personal story about a time in New Jersey that led him to a move to California and the song that inspired him to do so. Open Lines are also featured.
